Join your new tribe on an invigorating week of yoga, fitness, movement, relaxation and adventure in the beautiful medieval town of Columbeira, Portugal, just 45 minutes north of Lisbon. This region of Portugal boasts some of the world’s most beautiful and pristine beaches. Picturesquely draped across sandstone cliffs above the blue Atlantic, sunny Columbeira is popular with travelers wanting to remove themselves from city life and dive into natural beauty and culture. It’s equally renowned for spectacular ocean vistas and excellent seafood restaurants and is also a mecca for surfers, who come here for the great waves and camaraderie.  Equally beautiful are the rolling hills and native farm lands where sheep make their daily strolls to the sounds of their own bells. Surrounded by wineries and flower gardens galore, this area offers world class hiking trails that we'll explore on foot and on horseback!

Our deal is, "you do you," but we offer plenty of opportunities to make this a an experience that will ignite positive shifts in your life. There are 1-2 yoga classes and one workout sesh each day, as well as arm balance & inversion workshops to help you learn to fly!, meditation sessions, group games & activities, hikes and amazing horseback riding treks through the wineries and rolling hills of southern Portugal. Do the group things that make your soul play, and take the rest of the time to "do you," get a massage, sit by the pool or chat with new friends.

This is not your typical yoga retreat!

The accommodations we select and the activities we curate may bring you out of your comfort zone, encourage you to face fears and look at how you show up to new and exciting challenges. We work hard, play hard and rest hard. We start to break through patterns that have kept us from our full potential, all while building real friendships for life.


We start the day with a Vinyasa Yoga class every morning and include a daily Metabolic Effect workout class (30 minute workouts at your own pace). If our day isn't too activity-packed, we'll often end the day with a yin or restorative yoga practice. In between, there's down time and lots of pre-planned activities including a workshop on how to maintain a balanced lifestyle, a session on standing upside down (handstands, headstands and other shenanigans, beginners welcome!), a mala bracelet making workshop and other opportunities to connect...or disconnect.

Play is a big part of our programs - we believe that dropping the hats we wear and being a kid again brings us back to who we truly are and gives us a chance to look at life with a fresh perspective.

You don't need to be a yogi or a fitness buff - you just need to be a human being interested in exploring, playing, growing and getting your movement on! Basic familiarity with yoga is recommended but not required.

Your retreat package includes all on-site group activities, local hikes, yoga, meditation, workouts, workshops and access to the resort's beautiful gardens, pool and yoga decks as well as as day trips to the beautiful village of Obidos and Lisbon.
We have organized other optional adventures including Coasteering, a new adventure sport that combines swimming, climbing, traversing, zip lining and cliff jumping into one adrenaline fueled experience! Signup options for these will be emailed to you upon registration.

Transportation & Logistics

Buddha Retreat is located in Columberia, 45 minutes North of Lisbon, Portugal.
Plan to fly into Lisbon Airport (LIS) on March 30th before 4:00 pm.
A shuttle service will pick you up from Listbon airport and transfer you and other retreaters to Buddha Retreat (airport transfer included in package).
Plan to fly out of Lisbon Airport on April 6th in the early afternoon.

Have no fear! Our yoga and fitness classes are challenging to all levels and we meet you where you are in your practice and physical abilities. Nathania loves to make yoga playful and accessible no matter how much or how little experience you have. Gary’s workouts are designed for all levels of fitness too. He likes to say that his grandmother and an Olympic athlete could both get a good workout. If you want to dabble in the world of mindfulness and meditation without being TOO serious about it, we've got you.

Our adventures span the realm of cave drops of 300ft in Belize to zip lining on the longest line in Mexico, to jumping from a 50ft pendulum swing or hiking to the top of a volcano in the middle of the night. Our adventures are designed to meet you where you are and help you break through your own mental blocks and self-imposed limits. You can do ANYTHING. Start by doing something daring.
